Ingredients
- 3 chicken pieces (whole, slightly cut with a knife)
- For the marinade
- 4 to 5 tablespoons yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
- 2 to 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 tablespoon chaat masala
- 3 tablespoons tikka masala
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon food color
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 tablespoon coriander powder
- 4 tablespoons cooking oil
Method
- In a mixing bowl, combine all the marinade ingredients. Mix well to form a smooth paste.
- Make slight cuts on the chicken pieces with a knife. This helps the marinade penetrate the meat.
- Place the chicken in a separate bowl and coat it completely with the paste.
- Transfer the marinated chicken to a large pan. To add a smoky flavor, place a smoking coal coil in the pan with the chicken and let it marinate with the smoke for one hour.
- After one hour, remove the coil. Add any remaining marinade paste to the pan.
- Cover the pan and cook the chicken on a low flame for about 10 to 12 minutes on each side, until it is fully cooked with a delicious charred exterior.
- Serve as an appetizer or with your favorite side dishes.
