Pudina Chutney recipe
A fresh, sharp mint chutney that goes with kababs, samosas, chaat and fried snacks.

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh mint leaves (podina), packed
- 1/2 cup fresh coriander, packed
- 3 green chillies
- 1 small garlic clove
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds (zeera)
- 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp thick yogurt (optional)
- 2 to 3 tbsp cold water
Method
- Wash the mint and coriander well and shake off the water.
- Add the mint, coriander, chillies and garlic to a blender.
- Add the cumin, salt, sugar, lemon juice and cold water.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides once.
- For a creamy version, stir in the yogurt after blending.
- Taste, adjust salt and lemon, and keep chilled until serving.
Good to know: Use cold water or an ice cube when blending to keep the chutney bright green. Add lemon juice just before serving.
